Become a Member

Membership of Charterhouse offers organisations the opportunity to develop and support their practice through networking and formal links with other expert practitioners in the field. The group provides an ‘outward face’ to the wider sector, promoting the work (and the members), supporting referral enquiries, supporting evidenced based work and consulting and representing with a wide variety of Government and key stakeholder organisations. Membership also provides a key way of demonstrating added value to regulators, commissioners, customers and parents.

Membership Process:

Once an enquiry to become a member has been received, we will contact you to have an initial discussion. We will ask you to complete a simple application form telling us about your organisation and submit this with recent inspection reports and any supporting information.

We will make an appointment for two of our Directors to come and undertake an assessment visit to your service. This assessment reviews your service against our 7 therapeutic outcomes, in particular looking at the experience of children and young people, the experience of staff and the thoughtfulness of the organisations systems, processes and structures. Initial feedback is given on the day and this is followed by a full written report outlining the observations and findings of the visitors and making a recommendation on the membership application.

There is an opportunity for you to comment on the draft report before it is circulated to the other member organisations. At our next available quarterly meeting, the report will be presented and discussed before a final vote on the recommendations.

There is a one off application/ membership fee (for organisations) of £500 which covers all the time and travel expenses of the two visiting directors, the assessment itself and the production of the professional report and recommendations.
