The Charterhouse Group
The organisation was established in 1989 and now operates as a charity that supports, represents, develops and promotes specialist therapeutic childcare in the UK. We are a membership organisation and our members are all providers of specialist residential therapeutic care to children and young people.
Trustees and Directors
Senior operational figures from these organisations also form the trustees and the directors of the charity to ensure that we remain well informed, connected with practice and fully engaged in the debate in this important area of work.
Sector Developments
In recent years there has been a re-emergence of theory and evidence based practice and at the same time a need for purchasers and providers to measure outcomes, provide placement stability, focus on workforce development and an understanding that relationships are important to provide the best care for emotionally vulnerable young people. This is the work that Charterhouse supports.
